Round table on experiences in the health care sector: Challenges in fight against the misconduct

On November 24th 2011, for the first time the Business Keeper AG organized an event devoted to the issue of fight against the misconduct. Thirty participants from different investigation units, including the representatives of the division of health care, were invited to an exclusive forum of exchange of experiences.

The AOK Bayern in Munich was the host of this event.



 

The distinguished experts in the area of anticorruption, namely: Dina Michels, Tim Wybitul, Ralf Brum, Frank Keller and Kenan Tur shared their insights with the representatives of present health insurance companies on the subject related to the fight against misconduct. The expert insights were shared aiming at an exchange of experiences on the following subjects: „How does the health insurances investigate the cases of misconduct?“, What should be taken into consideration during the investigation of data privacy?“. During an open dialogue initiated between the experts and participants, most of these issues were addressed.

 



Considering the very positive feedback received from the participants, the Business Keeper AG is now planning to annually conduct similar event for the division of health care and on the same very subject.


 



Steinbeis Management Line of School GRC „Fraud Management – Business crime in Germany”

On November 17th 2011, the Steinbeis academy organized a podium discussion on the subject of Fraud Management – Business crime in Germany.



 

Kenan Tur shared his knowledge together with Professor Dr. Kai-D. Bussmann (Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg) and Steffen Salvenmoser (PricewaterhouseCoopers) on fraud management and business crimes. Birgit Galley (Director School of Governance, Risk & Compliance) moderated this event.



 

The focus of the discussion was an implementation of the whistleblowing system, security, it-protection, compliance and investigation in the companies. Kenan Tur shared his expertise and insights on the implementation of the BKMS® System in companies.

 


  

  





Compliance breakfast „Trends and Subjects of 2012“

On October 18th 2011, the Business Keeper AG organized a compliance breakfast in the famous industry club of Düsseldorf. This event had an objective to facilitate the expert exchange of experiences among the participants.

 

The lawyer Georg-Peter Kränzlin along with the experts Steffen Salvenmoser and Kai Leisering shared their knowledge on key subjects: How should compliance management be organized? Which risks arise from missing compliance? The guests had an opportunity to familiarize themselves with and actively discuss the best practice examples of compliance trends in 2012.



 


 

 





3. BKMS® Experience Day

The 3rd BKMS® Experience Day took place on March 31st and April 1st 2011, hosted by Commerzbank AG with its impressive "Haus der Commerzbank" next to the "Brandenburger Tor" in Berlin, Germany.

About ninety invited guests listened to experts' lectures as well as to a panel discussion with the emphasis on compliance and whistleblowing systems. Our key note speaker Professor Dr. Klaus Leisinger (Novartis Foundation for Sustainable Development) referred to the topic "Corporate responsibility with a global business ethos". Other experts reported on data privacy, the international rollout of a compliance system and the implementation of a compliance programme at SMEs.

On the day before, the BKMS®users' forum met in a closed group of participants for a confidential exchange of experiences. In lectures they dealed with the interaction with whistleblowers under employment laws, the crisis communication as well as with the access rights of SEC to German companies. 

The informative programme was completed by a visit of the Federal Chancellery and a boat trip on the river Spree with a Get-Together in the evening.



 

2. BKMS® Experience Day

On May 28th 2010, 70 invited guests from different businesses took part in the top-class experts' exchange 2nd BKMS® Experience Day. This year we were invited by Fraport AG who owns and runs the international airport Frankfurt / Main, Germany.

Speakers from sciences and economy reported on theories and experiences concerning the topics compliance and whistleblowing systems. In a panel diskussion different whistleblowers' motivations were debated.

Users of the BKMS® System had the opportunity to exchange experiences with reports and their handling in a closed group of participants. Kai Leisering, director of Business Keeper AG, introduced various innovations for the internet based whistleblowing system: "The examiner module is now available in German, English and French. For the whistleblower we provide 23 languages."

On the eve of the 2nd BKMS® Experience Day, an entertainment program all about Frankfurt airport took place. After a viewing of the construction site for the northwest runway we held a get-together in the soundproof DaVinci house right besides the runway.

An additional highlight was the passing of the new airbus A 380, which flew the German soccer team to the World Cup in South Africa.


1. BKMS® Experience Day

  

The 1st BKMS® Experience Day took place on May 28th 2009 at Bertelsmann, Unter den Linden 1, in Berlin. Around 70 invited guests from business, public authority and sciences participated at this exclusive experts’ event.

 

After substantiated presentations on diverse aspects of Value Management, Compliance and Whistleblowing, a highly selective panel discussion with Prof. Dr. Bannenberg, Prof. Dr. Bussmann, Mr. Hocker, Dr. Morenz, Mr. Tams and Prof. Dr. Wieland completed the event.

The Experience Day is arranged for a closed circle of participants in order to allow for an open exchange between users of the BKMS® System on Compliance and Whistleblowing related topics. It was our clients who initiated the concept of this event as they asked for an experience platform supporting their daily work in Compliance/Legal/Revision Departments.

Due to its success, the BKMS® Experience Day might be taking place on an annual basis.
