Yesterday, Europe´s leading provider of Compliance solutions, Business Keeper, invited to an expert event on „Sapin II – Challenges & Opportunities” that took place at "La maison d'Amerique Latine" in Paris. More than 40 Compliance experts from large French companies and organizations accepted the invitation for a “Petit Déjeuner“. The idea of the event was to raise awareness of the participants regarding the requirements and perspectives of the new legislation. Moreover, the event offered profound information on processes, solutions and best-practices regarding the upcoming challenges.
Two reknown speakers from France, Bénédicte Querenet-Hahn, partner of the law firm Grützmacher Gravert Viegener (GGV) and Renaud Feil, founder and CEO of Synacktiv, a company specialized on IT Security, spoke about the most important aspects of the new legislation and the security requirements regarding whistleblowing solutions.
„To comply with the multiple requirements of Sapin II, companies from 50 employees up have to establish an appropriate, robust and secure whistleblowing system”, said Bénédicte Querenet-Hahn. „For this reason, companies have to start now to look for the right solution.“
“When making the decision for a whistleblowing tool, the security of the application must be a top ranked criteria to ensure, that highly sensitive report data is only accessible by entitled users within the organization“, said Renaud Feil. “This should be proven by experts. The provider of the whistleblowing solution itself, as well as any third party must not have access. In this context it is also important to pay attention to the problematic legislation in some countries, where providers are forced to grant extensive access rights to security authorities even with minimal evidences."
